Besides the fact that football is back, we've had a lot to be
excited about! The building continues to look better and better as the finishing
touches are applied. As a church we are getting very excited to finally be in our
own building. We are also getting a little nervous. We have a lot to finish and
funds are very very tight. We continue to look for ways to save costs, and also
continue to rely on God to provide for all of our needs. We also look forward to
hosting Dr. Thor's ordination cermony on Reformation day in our new building. Please
continue to lift God's church up in prayer. If there is any way you can help whether
it be with your time or finances we would love to hear from you. If you have any
questions about the new building please call us at 712-943-6363, or send us an email.

It's been almost two months since our last post and the building
has really changed since then. Almost all of the sheet rock is now up. Work has
started on the sidewalks and the parking lot will be started in the very near future.
God continues to answer prayers and people have continued to give faithfully to
the project. Our general contractor still expects to be able to move into the building
by late September or October of this fall. Thank you again for all of your prayers,
sweat and financial support. We look forward to dedicating the new building toward's
God's kingdom. If you have any questions about the new building please call us at
712-943-6363, or send us an email.

Work has continued on the building over the past month. Suter
has been busy installing the heating and cooling ducts. Thanks to a couple of local
volunteers, we were able to grade the parking lot ourselves and save potentially
thousands of dollars on the parking lot. This past week, the City of Sereant Bluff
offered to give us several trees that needed to be relocated as part of another
construction project. We are very grateful to have several trees planted on the
property to help protect the building from the sun and wind. We also had some very
generous volunteers come from Sioux Center, IA and Worthington, MN for a couple
of days and volunteer their time. We thank everyone that has given their time, talents
and money to help make FCC's first ministry center a reality. FCC has closed on
a construction loan with the local bank for $300,000 to help fund the remaining
costs of the project. A big thank you also goes to everyone that helped make that
loan possible. We have continued to see God at work through this project and continue
to work to further Christ's kingdom. If you'd be willing to volunteer some time
during July or August, please give us a call. Please call us at 712-943-6363, or
send us an email.

Wow, what a week it was! God has provided FCC with two very generous
groups of hard working volunteers. The first group to arrive was from Eastern Hills
Community Church in Aurora, CO. The second group that came to help this past week
was Vollink Enterprises from Orange City, IA. Thanks to all of their hard work,
talents, and tools, we were able to complete 90% of the framing in just one week.
We had originally thought it would take about 3 weeks to finish the framing. God
can move mountains! God is amazing! A big thank you to everyone that committed so
much sweat to help further Christ's kingdom. FCC has applied for small building
loan for $300,000 to finish construction of the building. Please pray that the loan
will get approved and processed quickly. In the coming weeks, workers will be finishing
the framing, electrical, and will start sheet rocking the walls. If you'd be willing
to volunteer some time during May or June, please give us a call. Please call us
at 712-943-6363, or send us an email.

Just two days ago, Sergeant Bluff was in a blizzard warning. Now
the sun is shining again. It has been a long and tough winter, but despite the weather
progress on the building has continued quite well. The builders have been finishing
up the siding and have been getting the plumbing and other ground work done inside
before the concrete is poured. We continue to be amazed at how faithful and generous
God's people have been even during tough economic times. We have already collected
over 50% of the 3 year faith pledges and we aren't even half way through the first
year. Wow, praise God! During the next month, workers will be finishing off the
outside and getting things ready to go on the inside for volunteers to start coming.
If you'd be willing to volunteer some time during May or June please give us a call.
We'd love to hear from you. Please give us a call at 712-943-6363, or send us an
email. Thank you for your prayers and
support.

Wow how time flies. It's amazing to think that it's almost March
already. Progress has slowed a little on the building during the winter months,
but work has continued. The builders have been trying to keep the floor warm so
that they can poor the concrete floor. The builders have also been busy installing
the siding, the windows, and they have started working on getting electric service
installed at the building. In the coming months we hope to have the site ready for
volunteers to come help. If you are willing and able to help, we'd love to hear
from you. Please give us a call at 712-943-6363, or send us an email. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Happy New Year! Progress on the new minisry center has continued.
The builders are expected to start putting on the roof and siding this week. Fundraising
for the new ministry center has also continued to go very well. So far you have
given over $200,000 for the new ministry center in addition to the monthly pledges
and we are over halfway towards reaching our goal. Thank you to everyone who has
given so sacrificially towards the new ministry center. Please continue to keep
us in prayer as we hope to start utillizing volunteers more extensively in the coming
months. Pray that people would be willing to volunteer their time and talents to
help make the ministry center a reality. Pray also for those who will be finding
places for volunteers to stay that are from out of town. If you could help us out
with your time, skills, or finances please call us at 712-943-6363 or click here to send us an email. God
is so faithful. May his kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Building is now in full swing and the contractor expects to have
the framing done by the end of November. On October 26th, Friendship Community Church
had a dedication service at the site. The FCC family endured 50 mph wind gusts and
temperatures hovering around 40 degress to pray at the building site and dedicate
it to the Lord. So far the FCC family has pledged $141,730 over three years for
the new building. This is an answer to many prayers. Praise God! We're getting close
to the halfway point of raising the 1.18 million needed to finish the building but
we still need your help. Over the winter months we are hoping to be able to utilize
volunteers who are skilled in carpentary, electrical, etc. If you could help us
out with your time, skills, or finances please call us at 712-943-6363 or click
here to send us
an email. Please continue to pray. To God be all of the Glory!

The building site continues to progress. The contractor started
working on the footings this week. The steel has started to arrive at the site.
On October 26th, Friendship Community Church will be having a dedication service
at the site. We welcome all to come join us. God has already provided $420,000 of
the 1.18 million needed to finish the building and we continue to be amazed by people's
generosity even during tough economic times. God has also provided a generous donor
who will match all donations given before the end of the year up to $100,000. If
you want to join us in this step of faith please call us at 712-943-6363 or click
here to send us
an email.

Friendship Community Church voted almost unanimously on July 29,
2008 to go forward with the building project. Dirt work has already started
and a finalized plan has been developed. As Friendship Community Church takes
a leap of faith, please keep us in your prayers as we enter this exciting time.
The total cost for the project is estimated to be $1.18 million and we need your
help. In the coming months we will need many different volunteers to make
this project a reality. If you would like to donate to the project or would
like more information please contact us at 712-943-6363.
Below are some photos of the project plan and progress. Check back soon for
more updates.
